At PBW, we believe in a holistic approach to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. My name is Anna, and as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), I’m passionate about helping children with autism reach their full potential. I want to share with you what your child will be doing during our therapy sessions and why our play-based approach is so effective.

First and foremost, it’s essential to understand that every child is unique, and their therapy plans are tailored specifically to their needs and abilities. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we take the time to get to know your child, understand their strengths and challenges, and develop a personalized treatment plan that will help them thrive.

During our therapy sessions, your child will be engaging in a variety of activities that are not only educational but also enjoyable. We believe that learning should be fun, and that’s why we incorporate play into our therapy sessions. Play is a natural way for children to learn and explore the world around them, and it’s a powerful tool for teaching new skills and behaviors.

But don’t be fooled by the word “play” – our therapy sessions are anything but aimless. Each activity is carefully planned and designed to target specific skills and goals outlined in your child’s treatment plan. Whether it’s practicing social skills through cooperative games, improving communication through imaginative play, or working on fine motor skills through arts and crafts, every activity has a purpose.

One of the key components of our therapy approach is teaching parents what to do so they can continue the therapy at home and help their child generalize the skills they’ve learned. We understand that our time with your child is limited, which is why we empower parents to be active participants in their child’s therapy journey. We’ll provide you with the tools, strategies, and support you need to reinforce and build upon the progress made during our sessions.

So, what will your child be doing during therapy? They’ll be playing, learning, and growing in a supportive and nurturing environment. They’ll be following a treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs and goals. And most importantly, they’ll be having fun while they do it.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our approach to ABA therapy, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you and your child every step of the way.
